On Monday, May 12, 2025, supporters of the five bills promoted by the Massachusetts Indigenous Legislative Agenda (MILA) converged on the State House in Boston to lobby senators and representatives to pass the entire slate of long-stalled Indigenous-backed legislation.

In April 2025, Cultural Survival submitted a stakeholder report to the Human Rights Council for the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of the United States. The report highlights instances where the U.S. has not complied with the rights of Indigenous Peoples.
May 5 is commemorated as National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls/ People/ Relatives. The day became recognized in 2017 when Montana Senators Steve Daines and Jon Tester responded to the murder of Hanna Harris on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation, as well as the cumulation of other murders and abductions of Native women and girls.
